The 3M™ Disc Pad Hub 86100 has a metal insert that threads onto the shaft of a standard rotary sander or right angle grinder to hold a fiber disc face plate and fiber disc in place. This 4-1/2″ hub can hold a 7″, 8″, or 9″ disc pad face plate. The rigid disc pad hub holds the face plate firmly in position to support a fiber disc with a 7/8″ center hole and the appropriate retainer nut (both sold separately). It enables operators to select face plates with four different densities—Soft, Medium, Hard and Extra-Hard—offering the convenience of using a single tool for multiple grinding applications.
The hub has 5/8-11 internal threads that fit onto a standard 5/8-11 threaded shaft typically found on larger sanders and grinders (where the shaft is 5/8″ long with 11 threads per inch).
